Scary Lego Victorian Buildings By Mike Doyle. In their series Abandoned Houses, artist Mike Doyle created three spooky abandoned Victorian houses out from LEGO bricks: the TwoStory with Basement, the 3 Story Victorian with Tree and the newest, Lego: Victorian on Mud Heap. His blog contains a considerable amount of details and pictures about how he earned all of these wonderful pieces. See much more of Mike’s work with his Flickr stream.
For me personally, this piece talks to the inherent unpredictability of these things which we call our foundation. Just like a little dollhouse, an apparently secure house is plucked up and hang on the new path. This charming home, lovingly embellished with ornamental fancy wasn't any match for nature. The flowery embellishments function as a reminder in our earlier concentration on the material world, as the aftermath removes us from that focus. The piece offers no answers or necessarily any hope, but rather points to life’s fragility.
